DO NOT use REAL PLAYER for MP3s. (.mpga)

When Real Player (RP) is set as your default MP3 player, upon download of any MP3 file, RP changes the embedded file type on Macintosh systems to PNRA instead of MPG3, and the .mp3 extension on Windows systems is changed to .mpga. With incorrect file identifiers, no other program on your system (other than RP) will recognize your file as being an MP3 file, although it is. This "Abominate Upon Download Feature" can not be turned off.

We wish there was something we could do to combat this pesky thing. We tried talking with Real Networks. We complained to the government. We even tried dynamite, pesticides, fire and a mystic healer on it, and it still took over the computer.

If you have already downloaded your order and have experienced this problem, just download again once you have disabled Real Player.

DISABLE REAL PLAYER FOR MP3

  1. Quit your browser
  2. Open the preferences (settings) of Real Player.
  3. Select the "upgrade tab"
  4. Click on "re-associate"
  5. Uncheck "Mpeg audio" and "MP3 Playlist"
  6. Click OK
  7. Install one of our recommended players
  8. Re-launch your browser

NOTE: This is only needed if you see Real Player coming up to play an MP3 file. If any other MP3 player comes up to play your MP3 files, then Real Player is already disabled for handling MP3s.
