In Final Cut Pro, my MP3 is making a popping sound. Why?

Final Cut Pro's manual advises not to use compressed audio formats in "Working with clips and the viewer" (MP3 is a compressed audio format). Convert your MP3 file to AIFF and import the new AIFF file.
